Recreation is a favorite for most of the adolescents. At Rose Hill we believe that many young people have not been taking care of themselves while using drugs and alcohol. The major goal of recreation is to improve the adolescent’s health through daily exercise and to teach them how to have fun without using drugs or alcohol. Some of the adolescents’ most enjoyable recreational activities are: horseback riding, hiking, snow-shoeing, golfing, bowling, rock-wall climbing, and the weight room. The goal of the program is to work on finding healthy alternatives, having fun without using and exposing the youth to activities that they can involve themselves in during early recovery and their return to their home communities.
